SkySelect has introduced the Aircraft Parts Price & Lead Time Index. The report highlights purchasing trends for aircraft parts ranging from rotables to consumables and expendables, as well as all associated materials. The key takeaway from its December 2022 edition is that, as expected, aircraft part prices and lead times are stabilizing post-COVID.
“With price and lead time stabilizing into 2022, it will be interesting to monitor standard price escalation rates for 2023, which are expected to reach record highs. Next year’s price escalations will be attributed mainly to material cost increase rather than labour costs. As the global supply chain stabilizes, as seen in other industries, it will be interesting to see if expected close-to double digit escalation figures persist,” said Nauman Saeed, COO at SkySelect. “Overall, the industry has yet again shown strong resilience, as the passenger demand reaches and in some areas outpaces pre-COVID figures and supply chains continue to deliver at unprecedented rates coming out strong from the pandemic setback of 2020,” he further added.
